Ruud Designs was started in the early 1990's in a small garage in the central valley of California. Owner Galen Ruud moved his business from studio space to space several times in Fresno before settling down permanently in Central Oregon's Bend area.

During his time in Fresno, Galen worked closely with the area's leading interior designers, architects and landscape designers producing mainly one of a kind objects from steel for both residential and commercial applications.

Ruud Designs now resides and operates in rural Central Oregon east of Bend.
